Bachata is a dance from the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean islands. Both the music and the dance have been influenced by Cuban Bolero, the Merengue (also of Dominican Republic origin), Salsa and Cumbia.
Salsa is a hot spicy rhythm forcing the hips to follow every beat. It is one of the most dynamic musical styles of the Western World. But Salsa is actually an umbrella term harboring many different Caribbean and Cuban rhythms such as the son, the chachacha and the merengue. Kizomba is one of the most popular genres of dance and music originating in Angola. It is a derivative of traditional Angolan semba with zouk and compas music from the French Caribbean Islands. On this basis, Kizomba music emerged as a more modern music genre with a sensual touch mixed with African rhythm. Unlike Semba, Kizomba music is characterized by a slower and usually very romantic rhythm.
